Aurélien Pélissier (ESR 13; IBM)

Early Stage Researcher

Aurelien Pelissier is from Grenoble, France. He obtained in 2018 his master degree in theoretical physics from the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) Paris-Saclay. During his academic curriculum, he had the opportunity to join the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, and then moved to the University of British Columbia, Canada, for a Predoctoral Research Program proposed by his university. During these research experiences, he worked on computational modeling methods to accuratly simulate and understand complex nonlinear physical phenomenons involved in Semiconductor physics and Ultrafast Spectroscopy.

In 2018, he moved to the Imperial University of Hokkaido, Japan, to do his master thesis in Reinforcement Learning, where he developped an algorithm to increase the efficiency in Monte-Carlo Tree search. After his graduation, he started to work on Machine Learning and Satistical methods for Cancer research, involving the development of reliable and robust machine learning and statistical mathematics techniques to analyse spectral imaging data from Raman measurements and obtain chemical information in sub-cellular structures. In 2019, he joined the Computational systems biology team at IBM Zurich, Switzerland.
